NEW UNION YOUTH
Introduction to Youth Page
Our goal at New Union church of Christ is to provide activities to help our young people grow closer to God, grow closer to each other, while having fun together. We want to provide activities that will help our youth grow in their faith and help them know the love of God. We also want to show the importance of fellowship with other Christians.
Bible Bowl
Our Bible Bowl program is in cooperation with other congregations in Coffee County. We study a defined selection from the Bible during Wednesday night classes and meet usually on the first Sunday of each month from September through April to test our knowledge on that selection. Everyone takes an individual test and then works with a group to fill out a group answer sheet. The goal is to study and learn God's word and fellowship with members of other congregations
TABS - Teen-Age Bible Study
Teen Age Bible Study, known as TABS is usually held on the third Sunday of each month from September through April at a different congregation each month. A lesson on a theme developed especially for teenagers is taught followed by a time for an activity, refreshments, and fellowship. The goal is teach the Bible and provide an opportunity for fellowship.
McArthur Manor Assisted Living Devotional
On usually the second Sunday of each month, Mark Brown organizes the young men for a the devotional for the residents of McArthur Manor. Our young ladies are encouraged to attend, participate, and support the young men. The goal is to teach leadership in worship, service to others, and support of each other.
SMBC - Short Mountain Bible Camp
Each year during the third week of June, we attend Short Mountain Bible Camp for Coffee and Rutherford County Week. This week is an intensive opportunity to grow closer to God and develop new friends. Camp is proven to be a significant influence leading to faithfulness to our Lord.
Retreats
Each year we have two youth retreats. One in the Fall which is usually held during the third week of October which is usually held at Short Mountain Bible Camp and one in the Winter during Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend. These retreats help build relationships and deepen our faith.
Graduating Seniors Program
Each May, we celebrate the graduating seniors from our congregation. The eldership provides a Bible and a personalized letter for each graduating senior. After service, we hold a luncheon and presentation of memories from the years in the youth group. The goal is to recognize the accomplishments of our Seniors and encourage them in their new roles in life.
Challenge Youth Conference
Every year during the last week in February we attend Challenge Youth Conference in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. It is a great weekend to help develop our faith.
