Discover the Big Picture of the Bible | Class 7

Class 7 looked at the period of unbelief that eventually kept the first generation out of the promised land.

Outline blank: Numbers 11-14 – Unbelief

Numbers 11:1a – “Now the people complained…”

Numbers 14:2 – “All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness!”
Numbers 14:26-28 – “As I live, declares the Lord, what you have said in my hearing I will do to you:”
Numbers 14:34 – “34 According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, forty days, a year for each day, you shall bear your iniquity forty years”

They missed the menu of Egypt more than they valued the presence of God.
Following God costs something. Not following God costs something. Pick your hard.
The two great lawgivers were defined by meekness and gentleness.
Bad people don’t have a monopoly on sin
Miracles are not enough for a hard heart.
Success is doing what God says, no matter where it takes you and no matter what it costs you.
It shows us that they were still looking for the solution for sin. It reminds us of Genesis 3:6 and looks forward to the promises of Genesis 3:15 and Genesis 12:3.
